Redesign the Periodic Table of Elements
A fairly complex information-design assignment at school.
What I did was creating an easy-to-use application which helps students to memorize the elements and the information surrounding it.
Students can add or remove layers so that they can study, for example the mass of every element, without the distraction of other information.
Instead of designing it solely for students, an ‘add’-tab was created where you can: manage the different layers, create different set-ups, create your own layers or download external layers.
A scientist creates a layer on which he/she can view the location to buy a certain element. This combined with a layer on which the lowest price of every element is shown, creates an overview of the lowest price of each element and where to buy it.
The possibilities are endless, easy to use and easy to read.
